Whew, finally, a new blog

Hello to all,
Sorry it's been over a month since my last blog. I have been working pretty steadily now, only got less than a month to go! More than that, I also finally get to go home to see Dan this weekend!! His ship has been out doing pre-deployment workups, so he's been gone for over a month as well. And just so you know, Valentine's Day actually occurs this Saturday, not a couple of weeks ago like everybody mistakenly believes :).
Well, what have I been doing? Starting IVs, hanging piggybacks (medicine), giving pain meds, doing neuro assessments, cleaning up puke, filling out paperwork, changing wound dressings, cleaning up more poop, emptying drains, drawing blood, discontinuing central lines (Big IVs), playing with chest tubes, flushing NG (nasograsric), G (gastric), J (jejunem-small intestine) lines, hanging TPN (all caloric intake through an IV), suctioning trachs, and more!! My funniest/ scariest moment was yesterday when I went past a patient room and saw a women lying on the floor. I yelled and got all kinds of help in there, but it turns out she had decided that she wanted to sleep on the floor, and had her blanket and pillow with her :).
Thank you also to everyone who has been praying for Dan and I. It's always tough being apart from each other, but I trust that God is using this to bring us closer to Him and each other. Please continue to pray for us as I finish up my last month here in Cincinnati and begin my new job (ER nursing) at Langley and as Dan prepares for deployment in April.
